The Hundreds x Jackson Pollock artist collaboration in Los Angeles, California, July 7th, 2017.
“I want to express my feelings, not illustrate them”—Jackson Pollock
Jackson Pollock is one of Bobby Hundreds’s favorite artists: “You’d think that after centuries of artistic exploration, there’d be nothing new under the sun in terms of technique. But, pushed to the edge—both in medium and personal life—Jackson Pollock stumbled onto a new frontier. He recast painting for another generation of artists to dismantle, debate, and develop.”Bobby said.
Regarded as the “greatest living painter” during his lifetime, Jackson Pollock spearheaded the Abstract Expressionist movement by developing an energetic, radical style that changed the way we think about art today. “I have no fear of making changes, destroying the image, etc., because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through.” -Jackson Pollock
A detail from Pollock’s paint-splattered studio floor appears as a graphic element throughout The Hundreds collection, which includes a canvas work jacket, a series of printed T-shirts, headwear, a skateboard deck, an ash tray, shorts, and a puzzle.
The collections slip the leash and stick to its own unique and unfettered, for this reason, the feeling expressed was authentic and sincerely.
The Hundreds x Jackson Pollock capsule collection will be available starting July 7th, at The Hundreds flagship stores, Online Shop, and select authorized retailers worldwide.

The 13th annual Ink- N- Iron festival took place on the great Queen Mary ship in Long Beach, CA recently. Long Beach was the tattoo cultural engine of the West Coast and the center where techniques and trends evolved. People from all over the world come to support this event and enjoy the vibes of the tattoo convention … including Lula!
For one with no tattoo, like myself, It is very intriguing to watch these talented tattoo artists draw tattoos on others. Some of the best tattoo artists in the world attend this event to showcase their work, ink, apparel, etc. Along with the tattoo convention, there is also a car show and live music event.
Ink- N- Iron tattoo convention was established to pay a tribute to the great tattoo art tradition. Many of Lula’s friends were exhibiting over there, including REBEL8 ambassador, Benjamin Lin, from Needle No. 8 tattoo studio in Taiwan.
Started his tattoo career since he was 16 years old, Benjamin is infamous, controversial and yet interesting. Stay tuned for our interview video with Benjamin Lin in the next few days!
After creating a burger glider for Benny Gold in 2013, Benjie Escobar was featured as a guest artist in Benny Gold’s spring 2015 collection. Benjie is LA- based and is an extremely talented, creative and innovative artist. His influences come from his childhood experiences in Pomona, California, along with anime, lowrider bike culture, graffiti, raves, streetwear, DJ culture, Japan, typography, design, illustration and, of course, pizza.
His designs are featured on multiple T-shirts, in magazines and elsewhere. He is known for curating art exhibitions, inventing new zine genres, art-directing gourmet burger festivals and building brands.
Benjie used his love for pizza and incorporated it into the infamous Benny Gold glider with the motto, “Stay Gold.” It’s now hot n’ ready for your wardrobe.
This summer, OBEY’s limited Series TEES teamed up with Alan Forbes
got his big break from creating a iconic imagery for the Black Crowes, Forbes has also created record covers for numerous other bands including the Cult and AFI.
Because of the lost art using a brush and hand lettering that he uses in his work, Alan’s work is highly requested. In addition to over 700 silkscreened rock posters, his paintings can be seen in some of the biggest galleries around the world.
Check out the collections–OBEY summer 10.
Recently, our friend in Japan sent us the info of REBEL8 being thrown up by the likes of celebrities such as Travis Barker and Lil’ Wayne. On this month’s cover of Woofin’ Magazine, the REBEL8’s “Illuminati Cap” worn by a famous Japanese Rap Group. This is proof that this brand has a strong fan base in Asia.
It’s been fifteen years since the inception of the Volcom artist series collaboration, to present day the program continues to be a success. This season, Australia is properly represented by Sydney’s own Jamie Browne. This Australian illustrator is heavily influenced by skateboarding, rock & roll music, and bold graphics so it was suiting to have him as part of this collaborative series. Grab one before it grabs you!
